Aquino, Villar set dates in filing CoCs

villarNacionalista Party (NP) presidential candidate senator Manny Villar and Liberal Party (LP) standard-bearer senator Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III have already decided when to file their certificates of candidacy (CoC) even as senator Francis ‘Chiz’ Escudero set to announce on Tuesday his 2010 plans.

Villar will file his CoCs on the commemoration of Andres Bonifacio’s birthday on November 30 while Aquino is set to file his own CoCs on November 28.

According to former congressman Florencio “Butch” Abad, Aquino will file his CoC along with along with his running mate senator Mar Roxas and with their respective family members.

Villar’s running mate Sen. Loren Legarda, however, has yet to announce when she will file her own CoC.

Villar’s spokesman, former congressman Gilbert Remulla, said the NP will announce its senatorial line-up at a proclamation rally in Tondo on November 29.

Expected to be included in Villar’s line-up is Ilocos Norte congressman Bongbong Marcos whose Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL) has already allied with NP.

On the other hand, the LP’s senatorial line slate include former Senators Franklin Drilon, former Socio Economic Secretary Ralph Recto, Muntinlupa Representative Rufino Biazon, Bukidnon Rep. Teofisto Guingona III, Akbayan party list Rep. Risa Hontiveros, former congressman Nereus Acosta, Sonia Roco, wife of the late Senator Raul Roco, and detained Brigadier General Danilo Lim.

Former senator Sergio Osmena III is included also in the Aquino’s senatorial line-up although Osmena has announced he might run as independent in protest of Recto’s inclusion in the LP’s ticket.

Meanwhile, Escudero will finally announce on Tuesday morning at the Club Filipino in Greenhills, San Juan his political plans in 2010.

It was the same place where Escudero surprisingly resigned from the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) last October 28.

In a television interview, Osmena said Escudero considers running for vice president as independent. (PNA)
