42 people hurt in Agusan-Davao highway accident

TAGUM CITY – At least 42 people were hurt when a passenger bus fall into a ditch along the Agusan-Davao highway particularly in Canocotan road last Wednesday, field report received at the command and tactical operation center of the AFP’s Eastern Mindanao Command (EastMincom) based in Davao Gulf.

This field report received by EastMincom also stated that the aircon Metro Shuttle Bus driver, identified as Magno Galleros, 48, who was also injured during the incident, surrendered to police authorities and reported the incident.

The road accident happened at 3:30 p.m.

The injured passengers, including a two-year old boy, were brought to the regional hospital in Tagum City. Their identities were not immediately available.

The initial traffic police report said the bus with plate number LWK-155 was traveling from Caraga and Compostela Valley towards Davao City when it suddenly swerved to the opposite lane of the highway.

According to the report, the driver lost control of the vehicle and fell into a ditch at the right shoulder of the road. (PNA)
